The Legal Department provides corporation counsel services to the City of Webster Groves and prosecuting services to the City for actions before the Webster Groves Municipal Court. 

The city is represented by Bruntrager and Billings, LLC. The City Attorney is Neil Bruntrager. Prosecuting Attorneys are Peter Bruntrager and Jonathan Bruntrager.

Please be advised that the Prosecutor’s Office is NOT part of the Municipal Court. The Court will not forward paperwork to the Prosecutor on behalf of the defendant. You must submit your paperwork to the proper office for processing. Please see below for more information. 

ENTRY OF APPEARANCE

Cases Issued/Filed AFTER January 1, 2020: 

All attorneys are required to e-file their Entry of Appearance through Casenet at www.courts.mo.gov for any cases issued AFTER January 1, 2020.

Cases Issued/Filed BEFORE January 1, 2020: 

All attorneys can file an Entry of Appearance to the Court by emailing court@webstergrovesmo.gov, faxing a copy to 314-963-1514, or by mailing an entry to the Webster Groves Municipal Court, #4 E Lockwood Ave, Webster Groves, MO 63119. Please only send one entry by any of the options listed above. 

REQUEST FOR RECOMMENDATION

Please be advised that the Prosecutor’s Office is NOT part of the Municipal Court. All requests for recommendations MUST be submitted to the Office of the Municipal Prosecutor separately from any court documentationThe Court will not forward any requests for recommendation.  

Mailed requests should include a self-addressed stamped envelope, and can be sent to the City of Webster Groves Prosecuting Attorney, #4 E Lockwood Ave, Webster Groves, MO 63119. Email requests can be sent to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Assistant at prosecutor@webstergrovesmo.gov. Phone and facsimile requests will not be granted. All requests should include:

  • Entry & Request for Recommendation in letter form.
  • Defendant’s name, citation number(s), court date, and charges.
  • 5 year driving record (needed only for traffic matters).
  • Proof of insurance, license, or registration as appropriate for the charges. 
  • Proof of insurance coverage or restitution for any accident.

Acceptance of Recommendations:

The recommendation will indicate if a court appearance is required. Otherwise, recommendations may be accepted by counsel and defendant signing the recommendation form and mailing it to the court with payment in full by the date and time given. The Court will not be able to accept the recommendation and payment without signatures from BOTH the defendant and attorney. 

No partial payments are allowed on recommendations. To obtain the recommendation, all fines and costs must be paid in full by the court date given.  

Rescission of Recommendation:

The recommendation has not been accepted until all fines and costs are paid. If the defendant fails to pay all fines and costs by the due date, the recommendation will be rescinded and the original violation will then be pending against the defendant.

REQUEST FOR CONTINUANCE

If you are unable to appear on the court date as scheduled, please file a Motion to Continue with the Court PRIOR to the court date. All requests must be submitted in writing, and will not be granted over the phone or on the day of court. 

The Judge may deny any continuance request. Unless you receive confirmation a continuance was granted, you must appear at your scheduled court date. Failure to appear may result in a warrant for your client.

Cases Issued/Filed AFTER January 1, 2020: All attorneys are required to e-file their Motion for Continuance through www.courts.mo.gov. 

Cases Issued/Filed BEFORE January 1, 2020: All attorneys should file their Motion for Continuance by fax, email, or mail.
